Form 24Q Generation | User Guide

Introduction

Pocket HRMS helps you to quickly generate Form 24Q for declaring your TDS returns. Since companies need to submit it quarterly, it is necessary to have an automated process to generate Form 24Q every time.

This page provides the steps to generate Form 24Q with Pocket HRMS.

Pre-requisites:

✔ Admin credentials

Note - Kindly contact your Admin/ HR for rights if you are not able to perform the steps below.

Steps:

A. How to add Bank details:

Step 1: Go to the ‘Settings’ menu.

Step 2: Open the ‘Income Tax’ tab and select the ‘Tax Settings’ sub-tab and select the option ‘Bank Details’.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Add Bank Details’ button to add the bank details.

Step 4: Enter the ‘Bank Name’ and ‘BSR Code’, and click on the ‘Add’ button to add the bank details to the system.

B. How to add Challan details:

Step 1: Go to the ‘Income Tax’ menu, select the ‘Transaction’ sub-menu and choose the ‘Challan Entry’ option.

Step 2: Click on the ‘+’ icon at the top right corner of the page.

Step 3: Enter the required details and select the relevant options on this page and click on the ‘Save’ button to save the challan entry.

Step 4: You can also view the list of employees by clicking on the ‘View’ button.

C. Updating Details:

Step 1: Go to the ‘Analytics’ menu and open the ‘Reports’ sub-menu.

Step 2: Open the ‘Income Tax’ tab, and select the ‘Form 24 Quarterly’ sub-tab.

Step 3: Fill in all the details and click on the ‘Save’ button to save the details.

Note: This will be a one-time activity.

D. Generating Text file for eTDS:

Step 1: Go to the ‘Analytics’ menu and open the ‘Reports’ sub-menu.

Step 2: Open the ‘Income Tax’ tab and select the ‘Form 24 eTDS’ sub-tab.

Step 3: Select the relevant options for the ‘Category’ and ‘Quarter’ sections and click on the ‘Download’ button to download the report.

E. Validation of the Text file:

Step 1: You can validate the text file by downloading the latest FVU file validation utility available here.

Step 2: For validating the text file, the CSI file is also required, which can be downloaded from here.

Step 3: Upon successful validation, you can submit the FVU file to the respective department.
